Introduction
The UAE Government issued the National Policy for Vital Residential Communities in 2019, recognizing the importance of establishing a clear approach and unified national standards to support the flourishing of residential communities across the UAE. This initiative aligns with the rapid urban growth and development, ensuring continuous improvement in the quality of life for community members in the UAE, enhancing their social relationships, and fostering a sense of belonging and security.
This policy comes in line with the launch of “National Strategy for Wellbeing 2031”, which aims to enhance the livability, attractiveness, and sustainability of cities and regions. Therefore, this policy focuses on bringing essential facilities closer to residential communities, facilitating ease of connection between communities through roads and transportation, involving residents in improving the quality of life in their areas, and leveraging smart systems and modern technologies to achieve this.
