United Arab Emirates, May 30, 2024 - The General Secretariat of the Cabinet has organized an introductory workshop, on its premises in Dubai, during which it highlighted the key updates and amendments introduced to the Cabinet resolutions regulating the governance of the federal government’s boards of directors and their remuneration system. The event was aligned with the issuance of Cabinet Resolution No. (40) of 2024 concerning the Governance of Boards of Directors in the Federal Government and Cabinet Resolution No. (41) of 2024 Concerning the Remunerations of Board of Directors in the Federal Government.

Participants in the workshop highlighted the most important amendments that came with the new decisions, including the powers and responsibilities assigned to the boards of directors, board secretaries, and all involved parties within the federal government of the UAE.

More than 50 federal officials attended the workshop, among them secretaries and employees of organizational units concerned with implementing the decisions, as well as several rapporteurs of the subcommittees of the federal boards of directors.

During the event, a general overview of the components of the two new decisions was presented, including the rationale behind updating the old legislation in the matter, and the challenges detected while implementing them. Additionally, the participants clarified the most important updates, changes, and provisions regarding the boards of directors’ governance, the new remuneration system, and the criteria and controls for performance appraisals. The new Cabinet resolutions were extensively discussed with the attendees to ensure a thorough understanding of their provisions and proper implementation.
