United Arab Emirates, June 27, 2024: The call for participation in reviewing and developing federal legislation is permanently open to business owners and investors from various economic sectors in the UAE. The statement was made during a discussion workshop held by the General Secretariat of the Cabinet in collaboration with Dubai Chambers, attended by Her Excellency Maryam AlHammadi, Minister of State and Secretary General, and His Excellency Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, and a remarkable number of business leaders from various economic sectors including trade, industry, services, investment, real estate, technology, and finance.

The participants, including businessmen, businesswomen, and investors from various industries including retail, tourism, travel, real estate, financial services, transportation, shipping, information technology, and others, expressed the positive impact of the new and updated legislation on the growth and prosperity of businesses in all sectors. The workshop attendees praised the “UAE Legislation” platform, which further facilitated access to updated legislation related to business sectors, such as laws, executive regulations, and regulatory decisions, and appreciated that federal legislations are available on the platform in both Arabic and English.

Attendees of the workshop, featuring representatives of various business sectors, stressed the importance of allowing partners from the private sector a sufficient period to submit their feedback and proposals during the legislation projects’ development and review stage before their issuance. They also called on for developing mechanisms that ensure periodic communication to discuss the updates and challenges that may face any economic sector in the country.

Attendees highlighted that issuing the executive regulations at the same time as the issuance of related legislation is important to avoid any delay that may negatively impact the continuity and profitability of doing business, and stressed the importance of further coordination between federal and local legislators to ensure the ease of doing business at the state level. To concalude, the attendees requested that the legislators allow a sufficient period for companies and private sector institutions to adjust and correct their situations before any new law enters into force.
